Rock and Roll

Ian rolled over for the first time last night! He's been rocking himself about halfway over, but he still couldn't quite make it. He finally succeeded in rolling his fat little body over last night. I went nuts, of course, clapping and cheering for him. He rewarded me with a very confused look as to why Mommy was acting like a crazy person. I rolled him back over and called Wayne to come and see, to which Ian promptly laid flat as a board and smiled at me while thinking, "I am NOT a trained monkey, Mom. It's a no-go on another roll."

Cereal Time!

Ian wasn't all that impressed. Put a hamburger in front of him and he'll snatch the bun right off the top to try to shove in his mouth, but give him a spoonfull of oatmeal and he looks at you like you're trying to poison him :) Such a smart boy!

Tooth Fairy

The tooth fairy visited Aidan's class at daycare last week and he was telling me about her this morning. I have to say, very impressed that he listened so well! He told me that if you eat donuts, the sugar will get on your teeth and you'll get holes in your teeth called cavities. I asked him what the tooth fairy leaves under your pillow and he said "Oh, candy, granola bars, salad with ranch dressing, things like that." Salad with ranch dressing? That's a new one ;) Then, I told him I had to go to the eye doctor and he asked me if my eyes had cavities. Hmm... maybe the eye fairy needs to visit his class next!

Sigh

It seems like Ian has been constantly sick for the last 2 weeks. It started off with a bad diaper rash that came out of nowhere. He was so broken out all over his little butt/boy parts, it looked horrible. He has to use disposables at daycare and we thought he might be allergic to the Luvs we had bought (it was the first time he had worn them). So, 4 different brands later, we finally found that Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive diapers work for him. A day or two after that, he started having major congestion/cold symptoms. No big deal- right? Then, he starts running a fever of 103! He ran fever for two days (last Thursday and Friday) and was back to normal over the weekend. Except for the fact that his rash came back and the doctor said that it was a yeast rash! Antifungal cream has made the yeast clear up but, then, when I picked him up from daycare on Monday, he had this blotchy, red, sunburn-like rash all over his body. Poor kid can't catch a break right now! The doctor (who I'm sure is tired of seeing us in her office every other day, practically) said that he had an allergic reaction to something. So, for now, he's ok. I'm just kind of scared about what he's going to look like when I pick him up this afternoon! Please keep Ian and his health in your prayers right now...
